The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning support, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used. The role ensures that all mechanical systems and rotating equipment are installed, tested, and maintained in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements to support safe and reliable operations.

Work Location: Seatrium Admiralty Yard
Working Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, Sat 8am-12pm
This is a contract role until 31 Mar 2028

Responsibilities

  • Perform the installation, alignment, and assembly of mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, valves, piping systems, and other rotating machinery.
  • Support pre-commissioning activities such as flushing, leak testing, functional testing, and system checks.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure operational reliability and readiness.
  • Perform corrective maintenance and repair works to minimize equipment downtime and restore system functionality.
  • Assist QA/QC inspectors during inspections, testing, and acceptance activities.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure compliance with HSE requirements at all times.

Requirements

  • NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in EPC, offshore, marine, or oil & gas projects.
  • Experience working in a marine environment is an added advantage, preferably with exposure to internal combustion engines.
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
  • Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role, including working in confined spaces, at heights, and in outdoor environments when required.
  • Possess a strong safety mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
