About this job
The main responsibility of this role includes providing holistic educational support and assistance for all the children in a family including one with special needs. They are currently enrolled in both local and international schools. The Tutor will play a critical role in the children’s daily lives, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes their intellectual, social, and emotional development.
Job Scope:
1. Educational Support:
- Assist with homework and school assignments, ensuring adherence to local and international school curriculum standards.
- Manage tutors in various subjects as needed, particularly in English, Chinese, and other subjects and interest classes.
- Coordinate with school teachers to monitor academic progress and address any learning challenges.
- Facilitate educational activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
2. Childcare:
- Supervise daily routines including meal times, recreational activities, and bedtime.
- Arrange and transport to extracurricular activities, appointments, and social engagements.
- Implement and maintain a structured daily schedule that balances learning, play, and rest.
3. Social, Cultural and Emotional Support:
- Foster a positive and culturally aware environment, respecting the family’s values and traditions.
- Provide emotional support and guidance
- Encourage social interaction and cultural exploration.
4. Household Coordination:
- Liaise with other household staff for smooth running of the household.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children.
- Keep parents regularly (weekly) updated on children’s progress and daily activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Special / Education, Early Childhood or Psychology
- Experience as a tutor or in a similar role, preferably with children in an international school setting, and special needs
- Have a strong command of English and have good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Morning: 7.30AM – 11.30 AM
Lunch Break: 11:30 am – 1:00
Afternoon: 1.00PM – 5:00PM
