Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Instrument Technician to join our team for a Life Science project in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control systems. The role requires close coordination with engineers, supervisors, and project teams to ensure all instrumentation works are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, test, calibrate, and commission process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Perform loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning of field instruments.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify instrumentation faults during construction and commissioning activities.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment.
  • Install and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, level instruments, and control valves.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument hook-up drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Use calibration equipment and test instruments to verify instrument accuracy and performance.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Prepare testing, calibration, and commissioning records and reports.
  • Support project completion and handover activities.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as an Instrument Technician in industrial, pharmaceutical, life science, petrochemical, oil & gas, or process plant projects.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation installation, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Experience performing loop checks, functional testing, and instrument commissioning.
  • Hands-on experience with pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, control valves, and analytical instruments.
  • Familiar with P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and instrument documentation.
  • Knowledge of control philosophy and industrial communication protocols such as HART and FOUNDATION Fieldbus.
  • Experience using calibration equipment such as TRAX, DRUCK pressure calibrators, or equivalent test instruments.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and meet project schedules.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willing to work at project sites and overtime when required.
