Drafter cum QS (Quantity Surveyor)

Job Summary
We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Drafter cum QS to support our project and sales teams. This dual-function role combines technical drafting with quantity surveying and project documentation responsibilities, ideal for candidates who are organised, technically proficient, and thrive in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

Drafting

• Prepare and produce CAD drawings, including detailed drawings for mechanical and fit-out projects
• Collaborate with project managers and site teams to develop drawings aligned with site-specific requirements
• Update and revise drawings promptly to incorporate site changes, consultant feedback, and authority requirements
• Verify that all drawings comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and company drafting standards
• Maintain organised drawing records and implement version control to ensure document integrity and traceability

Quantity Surveying & Project Documentation

• Assist in measuring and preparing quantity take-offs (BQ/BOQ) from drawings and specifications
• Prepare BQ and costing sheets to support the sales team in tender submissions and proposals
• Support cost estimation and preparation of quotations for tenders and projects
• Maintain organised project files, contracts, permits, and reports to ensure easy access and accuracy
• Support budget monitoring by processing invoices and claims to help control project costs
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to coordinate purchases, deliveries, and vendor tracking
• Assist in preparing progress claims, variation orders, and project cost reports

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Min. Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in a drafting, QS, or project support role, preferably in the M&E/Engineering industry
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software to produce and revise technical drawings
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, for BQ/costing work and documentation
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and willing to learn
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail
