Job Summary

Support anaesthetists by preparing equipment and medications, conducting patient assessments, monitoring patient status during procedures, and assisting in post-anaesthesia recovery to ensure safe and effective perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare anaesthetic equipment, medications, and IV access under anaesthetist guidance to ensure readiness for procedures
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments to confirm patient suitability and readiness for anaesthesia
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and status continuously during procedures, escalating concerns promptly to clinical teams
• Assist in post-anaesthesia recovery by supporting patient stabilization and ensuring smooth handover to Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) staff
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and participate in resuscitation efforts as required
• Travel between hospitals according to roster to provide consistent anaesthetic nursing support across surgical cases

Required competencies and certifications

• Registered Enrolled Nurse with valid registration
