Patient Care Assistant (Daycare)

Reporting to the Nurse Clinician & Daycare Manager, you are responsible for the maintenance of a clean, orderly, and safe environment and the performance of patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Take active measures to ensure the safety of patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as required.
- Actively attend to the patients’ self-care needs including elimination, nail and oral hygiene maintenance.
- Assist with mobility needs of patients as well as transfer and mobilise the patient as required.
- Assist in helping patients to and fro from the Hospice.
- Measure and record patients' data, temperature and blood pressure as required.
- Look after the patient's dietary and feeding requirements, including taking meal orders, serving meals and drinks, and assisting with feeding if the patient is unable to do so.
- Be responsible for the food pantry, including safely storing food items, checking stock levels, and ensuring food quality for safe consumption.
- Upholds standards in infection control by means of standard precautions, hand hygiene, proper waste disposal and isolation practices.
- Assist with administrative duties such as data entry and document filing.
- Assist with filing of documents.
- Report occurrences and patient observations to the Registered Nurse promptly.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation at all times.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in matters involving patient care.
- Maintain a safe, conducive patient care environment.
- Undertake to keep oneself well informed of the updated industry guidelines and develop new skills that are necessary for the job.
- Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Nurse Clinician, Registered Nurse, or Daycare Manager.
Requirements:
- At least a GCE N-Level qualification, Certificate in Healthcare Assistance, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of working experience as a Patient Care Assistant.
- Passionate about serving and caring for patients.
- Strong sense of responsibility towards patient safety, with a considerate and courteous manner.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
