Job Summary
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Sales Manager, the Regional XRF Product Specialist will lead the product positioning, commercial enablement, and deployment of Rigaku's X-ray fluorescence (XRF) solutions across Southeast Asia.
This is a regional role requiring a strong technical foundation and practical application knowledge in XRF. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert for XRF products, supporting business growth through pre-sales activities, application support, customer engagement, and technical consultation.
Candidates may come from an analytical instrumentation company or from a relevant laboratory, chemistry, materials, or application environment, provided they possess strong XRF technical and application knowledge. Prior commercial experience is advantageous but not essential.
The role requires close collaboration with Commercial, Customer Support, and BU teams to drive regional strategy, strengthen product positioning, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Commercial teams to drive revenue growth through technical consultation, product demonstrations, and solution-based selling.
- Conduct sample analysis, feasibility studies, and application validation, delivering high-quality technical reports to customers.
- Act as the regional subject matter expert (SME) for XRF products, supporting industries such as metals, mining, cement, petrochemicals, and other relevant applications.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods, ensuring high performance and reliability in customer environments.
- Deliver advanced user training and provide ongoing product and application support to customers and channel partners.
- Support and enable regional distributors across Southeast Asia, ensuring consistent product knowledge and market coverage.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Support and BU teams to resolve complex technical challenges and improve product competitiveness.
- Create high-quality technical content, product notes, and presentation materials for commercial and marketing activities.
- Represent the company at regional seminars, workshops, and industry conferences.
- Build and maintain a strong Southeast Asia user network to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant technical, application, laboratory, product support, or customer-facing experience.
- Strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience in XRF is essential, including analytical workflows, data interpretation, method development, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of relevant XRF sample preparation techniques, such as fusion and pressed pellet preparation.
- Experience applying XRF in industries such as metals, mining, cement, petrochemicals, or other relevant industrial applications is advantageous.
- Experience in analytical instrumentation, technical sales, pre-sales, or product/application support is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience working with regional distributors or channel partners in Southeast Asia is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical knowledge into effective customer solutions.
- Strong customer focus and willingness to develop commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Ability to work independently in a lean regional organization, take ownership of issues, coordinate effectively across stakeholders, and follow matters through to completion with limited supervision.
- Fluent in English; additional Southeast Asian language skills are a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
