Part Time Accounts Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive, hands on and dependable Accounts Assistant to support our Finance team on a part time basis. The successful candidate will support the Finance function across multiple entities within the Singapore office, assisting with finance operations, bookkeeping, project cost reconciliation, billing support and finance administration while working closely with the Finance Manager and Senior Accountant.
This role is ideal for someone with a solid accounting background who is able to work independently, enjoys hands on finance work, and thrives in a fast-paced communications agency.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare customer invoices and support collection of outstanding receivables.
- Perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process staff expense claims.
- Process accounting transactions and maintain vendor and customer master data using Workday Financials.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and finance documentation.
Project Finance
- Prepare project cost reconciliations and verify third party costs against client billings.
- Investigate and resolve cost discrepancies.
- Support project billing and maintain project cost and revenue trackers.
Finance Support
- Prepare month end schedules and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients and vendors on finance related matters.
- Assist with audit, tax and statutory reporting.
- Support finance process improvements and special projects.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Solid accounting knowledge with practical experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
- Hands on experience with Workday Financials is highly preferred.
- Experience in a communications, PR, advertising, media, consulting or other professional services environment is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive, dependable and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- A positive team player who is comfortable supporting ad hoc finance and operational activities, and is willing to go the extra mile during month end, audit periods and business peak periods.
- Able to commit for a minimum of 6 months, with potential conversion to a full-time role based on performance
