Job Description

Primarily, Teaching Assistants will be responsible for the following duties:

(i) support the design, optimization and conduct of practical classes in the undergraduate programmes;
(ii) adaptation of course materials towards blended learning;
(iii) teach and facilitate classes in undergraduate programmes, including relevant interdisciplinary or common curriculum courses (eg CCHPE);
(iv) facilitation of collaborative learning workshops;
(v) support the design, optimization and co-ordination of experiential learning in the undergraduate programmes;
(vi) support course coordinators in managing communication and administrative needs of courses; and
(vii) support department-led pedagogical research.

The specific areas of expertise we are currently looking for include knowledge and practical skills in aspects of pharmacy and pharmacy practice. Candidates with the proficiency in creating online contents and improving user interface will be considered favourably.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:
Candidates must possess either a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Pharmacy or other related fields. Pharmacists with entry-to-practice degrees such as M.Pharm. or Pharm.D. are also acceptable. The degree qualification must be from a university recognized for registration by the Singapore Pharmacy Council (SPC).

Skills:
Ability to perform and teach the following pharmacy practice skills including medication reconciliation, medication review, dispensing, patient counseling, managing minor ailments, and providing drug information.

Experience:
Prior experience in teaching or mentoring students (especially in Institutes of Higher Learning) will be considered an advantage.
