Kitchen Helper

Job Summary

We are looking for hardworking and responsible Kitchen Helpers to join our Chinese restaurant kitchen team. You will assist chefs with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support smooth daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with daily food preparation tasks to support meal production
• Wash, clean, peel, and cut vegetables and other ingredients to meet kitchen standards
• Prepare ingredients according to kitchen requirements for efficient cooking processes
• Perform basic cooking and kitchen duties as needed to assist the kitchen team
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen and preparation areas to ensure food safety
• Wash and organise kitchen equipment and utensils to maintain operational readiness
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures consistently to comply with health standards
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organising ingredients to support inventory management
• Minimise food wastage by using ingredients responsibly during preparation
• Support chefs and kitchen team members during busy periods to maintain workflow
• Perform other duties assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or Chef to meet kitchen needs

Required competencies and certifications

• Basic knife skills and food preparation knowledge demonstrated through practical assessment

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Previous kitchen or F&B experience
• Experience in Chinese cuisine or working in a Chinese restaurant
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Good hygiene awareness
• Responsible, hardworking, and willing to learn
• Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
