ASSISTANT RESEARCH OFFICER (Data Analytics / Machine Learning)

Position Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Research Officer to join Wilmar’s corporate lab (Wil@NUS). The potential candidate will be primarily involved in data analytic sand machine learning. The project objectives are to model analytical data collected from Wilmar's factories or R&D centers to predict quality parameters related to the product.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the incumbent include, but are not limited to:

• Manage and preprocess data.
• Code and script based on specified tasks.
• Perform statistical analysis and apply machine learning techniques, including:

- Forecasting using time series data.

-Neural networks, particularly recurrent and long short-term memory networks.

• Apply computational techniques to solve open problems.
• Participate in seminars and research-in-progress meetings with the team and collaborators.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Team player with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to code in languages such as R, Python, Java, and Bash.
• Machine learning and statistical background.
• Positive learning attitude towards new ideas.
