About the Role

The Business Times is looking for a Video Journalist/Producer. The candidate will join BT's video team, working closely with the editorial team and journalists to produce digital content that drives subscriptions and brand awareness across all our social media platforms and channels.

He/she should be a digital native with a strong interest in business and finance news and trends, experience covering South-east Asian markets and countries, and a good understanding of how to create fresh, engaging content that resonates and connects the dots.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Write, script and film social video content for the newsroom, such as interviews, explainers, short documentaries, company profiles and branded content
• Conceptualise briefs and proposals for branded and sponsorship content
• Collaborate closely with journalists to ensure videos align with editorial direction
• Work with Head of Video to plan and execute video ideas
• Coordinate and manage external vendors for video projects
• Manage workflow, processes and communication channels with all internal and external parties
• Propose creative ideas and formats for content and audience engagement
• Mentor and guide junior team members in their field of expertise, e.g. post production

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a writing, content or video production role
• Experienced in scripting, pre-production, filming & post-production
• Intermediate videography and video editing skills, knowledge in Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus
• Good communication skills, independent, initiative-driven and willing to learn
• Experience in a newsroom or media publication covering business news
• Experience in covering stories and markets in South-east Asia
• Keen interest in business, finance, markets and geopolitics
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English
