Assistant Vice President (12 months contract), ESG Investment Management

The ESGInvestment Management team advance ESG integration across our investmentprocess including portfolio engagement to help strengthen long-term portfolioresiliency and value creation

The ESGInvestment Management team is looking to bring on an ESG professional tosupport our ESG integration for new investment opportunities and targetedportfolio company engagement. The candidate will report to the Vice President,ESG Investment Management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ESG related research and analysis to support deals teams from the Investment Group in the evaluation of new investment opportunities, from both risk management and value uplift lens
• Support post-investment monitoring and targeted engagement with portfolio companies, including developing ESG action plans in partnership with deal teams
• Conduct research and delivery of thematic reports on cross-cutting ESG topics and megatrends impacting investment decisions, portfolio management and value creation
• Support the continued development of Temasek sustainability knowledge repository through delivery of ESG tools and guidelines, curation of ESG case studies and ESG learning sessions for the Investment Group and portfolio companies
• Prepare and deliver internal and external updates related to ESG activities and broader trends

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Sustainability, or related disciplines
• At least six years of work experience in ESG integration, sustainability implementation or sustainable investing in private equity, investment management, management consulting
• Robust understanding of ESG opportunities and risks, especially in critical sustainability themes (climate, social and nature) as they apply and shape long-term corporate strategies
• Collaborative, curious and agile in working across geographies and diverse teams in a fast-changing environment – including work hours that can extend across global time zones
• Team player with strong intercultural awareness, team orientation and strong ownership and work ethic with demonstrated track record of initiating, driving, and executing across multiple initiatives, including responsibilities beyond the initial scope
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity in presenting complex information
• Familiarity with the use of artificial intelligence tools is a plus
