About the Job
Perform the Manufacturing Engineering activity in Component Repair production areas. Assuring the initial and continuing capability of the Production method to produce conforming products and ensuring the resolution of technical issues/problems/arisings to meet business and customer requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery (SQCD). Support integration of all Manufacturing Engineering activities across the product lifecycle and through the supply chain.
- Product Safety: Understand product safety risks and work on mitigation to meet the required safety levels supporting requirements of the Company’s Safety Management System.
- Quality assurance: Practice a culture of zero defects ensuring that manufacturing processes and methods within the business are developed and deployed to support Right First methodology. Support process and product related Quality investigation and manage technical aspects of NADCAP accreditation for special processes (plasma spray, coatings); drive a zero-defect culture with Right First Time (RFT) principles.
- Safety compliance: Identify and mitigate product safety risks in line with company’s Safety Management System and Zero Harm program.
- Process improvement: Apply SPS, DMAIC, and systems engineering tools to improve delivery performance and reduce Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ).
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with suppliers, production teams, and engineering groups to deploy and sustain operating System standards.
- Cost-Support cell/area of accountability to meet cost targets e.g. productivity, CONQ etc.
- Standards-Deploy and sustain the Operating System Standards by working with the Cell/Area CFT, and where applicable with the suppliers. Identify opportunity to improve the Standards.
- Lean/Improvement - Identify requirements for improvements and innovations in manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within their cell/area of accountability. Prioritize and promote launch of new projects based on business cases. Drive manufacturing processes towards identified best practice.
Requirements
- Degree in Aeronautical/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering discipline. At least 3 years of work experience in manufacturing/ repair/ overhaul environment.
- Commodity/ Product ownership experience will be advantageous
- Good knowledge of fixture design and masking
- Good communication, analytical, engineering and project management skills.
- Good technical problem-solving skills (Six Sigma) and hands-on approach.
- Able to work in a cross functional team setting
