The maritime industry relies on seamless coordination to keep vessels seaworthy and commercially ready. As an integral member of our technical and procurement team, you will ensure our fleet maintains the highest standards of operational excellence and regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex maritime logistics while supporting large-scale technical projects like dry-docking and vessel handovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end technical procurement activities including sourcing, quotation evaluation, purchase order issuance, and delivery coordination for vessel requirements.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective supply of spares, stores, provisions, and other technical materials to vessels worldwide.
- Liaise with vessels, suppliers, operations teams, and fleet personnel to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues related to quality, quantity, specifications, and invoicing.
- Monitor spare parts readiness and arrange deliveries at the most suitable ports.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory reports, supplier evaluations, and vessel expense documentation in accordance with company procedures and audit requirements.
- Review supplier performance, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and support annual rebate and cost optimization initiatives.
- Coordinate class and flag administration requirements, including surveys, inspections, statutory compliance, and related technical documentation.
- Support vessel ownership transfer, flag change, and newbuilding/takeover activities by coordinating technical and logistical requirements.
- Arrange repair and servicing of off-land equipment, monitor progress, update maintenance systems, and ensure proper closure of repair activities.
- Assist Superintendents in dry-docking planning, specification preparation, budget monitoring, contractor coordination, and post-docking documentation.
- Monitor validity of trading certificates and maintain daily technical correspondence with vessels.
- Ensure all technical and procurement activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, ISO procedures, and marine regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum diploma qualification in ideally a relevant discipline.
- At least one year of experience as a technical executive within the shipping industry.
- Demonstrated experience in maritime purchasing and technical procurement.
- Strong knowledge of technical, purchasing, and logistics processes.
- Proficiency in basic IT applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
- Good communication skills in both spoken and written English.
- A strong flair for numbers and financial accuracy.
