Privilege/Private Banking Lead
About this job
A well-established financial institution is looking to hire an experienced private banking professional to head a team serving high-net-worth clients.
In this role, you will manage and grow a portfolio of private banking relationships while leading a small team of advisors. You'll be expected to balance business growth with strong governance, ensuring the team consistently meets regulatory and risk standards while delivering a high standard of client service.
What you'll be doing:
You will guide and mentor a group of client advisors, setting clear goals and tracking their performance against agreed targets. Part of building a strong team culture means encouraging collaboration and holding the team to high standards of integrity and service.
On the client side, you'll take ownership of key relationships with affluent individuals, taking time to understand their financial objectives and structuring wealth solutions around their needs — with the aim of keeping satisfaction and retention high.
You'll also play an active role in growing the book of business, identifying opportunities to bring in new clients and expand assets under management, particularly across international markets. This includes working alongside marketing and product colleagues on campaigns aimed at this client segment.
Given the cross-border nature of the portfolio, a strong command of relevant compliance frameworks is essential — you'll need to keep the team aligned with regulatory obligations (including standards such as FATCA and CRS) and maintain sound risk practices throughout.
What we're looking for:
- A degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years in wealth management or private banking, including 3+ years leading a team
- Solid grasp of cross-border regulatory requirements and the needs of offshore clients
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning ability
