Our client is a technology company developing advanced AI-powered software products and is looking for a senior technical leader to drive its machine learning research and production AI capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Define and drive the AI and machine learning research roadmap, covering areas such as reasoning, memory, planning and intelligent workflow execution.

• Evaluate whether to develop new model architectures internally or adapt suitable open-source and commercial foundation models.

• Develop robust model evaluation frameworks covering accuracy, usefulness, reliability, safety and behaviour in real-world environments.

• Establish technical approaches for model alignment, safety controls and guardrails within production AI systems.

• Research and evaluate advanced techniques including retrieval-augmented methods, mixture-of-experts, model distillation, multi-agent systems and multimodal models.

• Partner closely with product, machine learning and application engineering teams to translate research capabilities into deployable features.

• Guide key technical decisions involving model architecture, training, inference and production deployment.

• Establish high technical standards for research quality, experimentation, evaluation and long-term machine learning system performance.

Job Requirements

• Possess Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• Extensive hands-on experience developing, training or improving machine learning systems deployed in production environments.

• Strong proficiency in Python and PyTorch and/or JAX, with experience working with GPU-based model training and inference.

• Deep understanding of model behaviour, evaluation, failure modes, robustness and technical trade-offs in complex AI systems.

• Strong hands-on technical orientation with the ability to make high-impact research and engineering decisions independently in ambiguous environments.
