Our client is a technology company developing AI-powered applications across multiple platforms and is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive application architecture, engineering execution and product delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the overall application engineering strategy and execution across backend, mobile and desktop platforms.

• Lead and develop a senior engineering team comprising backend, mobile and application engineers.

• Define the technical architecture for AI-enabled product workflows, APIs, backend services and client integrations.

• Ensure machine learning capabilities are integrated into applications with reliable interfaces, predictable system behaviour and appropriate failure handling.

• Partner closely with machine learning teams to translate AI/model capabilities into scalable production features.

• Make key engineering decisions involving latency, scalability, cost, reliability, security and user experience.

• Ensure production readiness through strong practices around observability, monitoring, retries, fallbacks, privacy and infrastructure cost controls.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture and design reviews while maintaining a balance between rapid delivery and long-term engineering quality.

Job Requirements

• Significant experience leading application, software or product engineering teams responsible for complex production systems.

• Strong hands-on technical background in designing and building backend systems and services used in production.

• Experience delivering AI-powered products, with a strong understanding of machine learning integration, limitations and engineering trade-offs.

• Excellent system design and architecture skills across services, APIs, data flows and client applications, with the ability to operate across backend, mobile and/or desktop environments.
