Analyst

Job Description

Our client, an established international shipping organisation, is seeking an Assistant AP/AR Analyst to support its accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding and timely payment.
• Prepare payment proposals and supporting documentation for approval.
• Issue customer invoices, receipts, credit notes and debit notes.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
• Reconcile supplier statements, customer accounts and general ledger balances.
• Investigate and resolve invoice, payment and account discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with bank reconciliations, journal entries and month-end closing.
• Liaise with customers, vendors and internal departments on billing and payment matters.
• Support audit requirements and provide relevant documentation when required.
• Assist with financial reports and other accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general accounting.
• Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may also be considered.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines and work accurately.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience within shipping, logistics or a multinational organisation would be advantageous.
