Job Description

This role requires staff to work with a porta linterface to review and perform quality checks on archival metadata extracted from digitised documents.

The job scope requires staff to:

1. Verify that key metadata of archival records were accurately transcribed by cross-checking extracted tabular output with the original digitised document

2. Identify transcription issues and discrepancies with reference to an existing Standard Operating Procedure

3. Support the development of the Standard Operating Procedure by providing feedback and suggestions

4. Document and categorise transcription issues encountered during the verification process

5. Record discussion points and decisions made to amend the metadata

6. Perform other related metadata verification, data cleansing, and issue analysis tasks

7. Be able to adapt to changes in the workflow and variations in documents encountered
