M&E Director (Iconic Mixed-Use Mega Development)

Our client is a leading A1 main contractor with an established presence of over 30 years in Singapore. They have delivered a strong portfolio of high-profile developments across private residential, mixed-use, commercial, transportation, and landmark infrastructure projects.
They are currently seeking an experienced M&E Director to lead all mechanical and electrical aspects for an iconic, multi-billion-dollar integrated development. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing complex interfaces across multiple concurrent packages and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Report directly to the Project Director and take full ownership of all M&E functions across the project lifecycle.
Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for planning, design coordination, procurement, and execution of M&E works.
2. Project & Interface Management
- Lead the coordination and integration of M&E systems across multiple work packages and interfacing developments.
Manage complex interfaces with Civil & Structural, Architectural, and external project teams to ensure seamless integration.
3. Execution & Delivery
- Oversee end-to-end M&E works to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and adherence to contractual obligations.
Drive construction execution, testing & commissioning, and handover processes.
4. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the key point of contact for clients, consultants, authorities, and internal leadership on all M&E matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships to facilitate smooth approvals and project progress.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all M&E works comply with regulatory requirements, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Champion a strong safety culture across all M&E activities in alignment with company and statutory requirements.
6. Team & Vendor Management
- Lead and mentor M&E teams, including engineers, managers, and site staff.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure performance, quality, and timely delivery.
7. Risk & Problem Solving
- Identify potential risks, technical challenges, and coordination issues proactively.
- Drive effective solutions and decision-making to mitigate delays and cost impacts.
8. Reporting
- Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and strategic insights to senior management and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 8–10 years in leadership roles managing large-scale mixed-use or mega developments.
- Proven track record in delivering complex, high-value projects (>$300M).
- Strong expertise in M&E systems integration across large, multi-package developments.
- Demonstrated experience managing interfaces across concurrent projects or phased developments.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets, contracts, and procurement strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple stakeholders.
