Assistant Director, Finance & Financial Control – Healthcare

Senior Finance Leadership | Financial Control & Governance | Healthcare

An established organisation within the healthcare sector is looking for an experienced finance professional to take on a senior leadership appointment within its Finance function.

This role is ideal for an experienced finance leader with strong grounding in financial control, governance and financial operations, coupled with the ability to lead teams and partner senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the organisation's financial control and finance operations to ensure strong governance and financial discipline
  • Drive robust financial reporting, controls, policies and processes in accordance with regulatory and organisational requirements
  • Oversee month-end/year-end closing, financial reporting and related finance activities
  • Review financial performance and provide meaningful analysis and recommendations to management
  • Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, financial policies and regulatory requirements
  • Partner senior management and business stakeholders on financial matters and key organisational initiatives
  • Work closely with internal/external auditors and relevant stakeholders on audit and governance matters
  • Lead, coach and develop the Finance team while ensuring effective delivery of the function's objectives
  • Support transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance function

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline
  • Professional accounting qualification will be advantageous
  • At least 15 years of relevant finance experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a managerial/leadership capacity
  • Strong experience in financial control, reporting, governance and finance operations
  • Proven experience managing and developing finance teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior management
  • Candidates with experience in the public healthcare/public sector or similarly complex organisations will have an advantage
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving capabilities
