Role Overview

As a Barista / Senior Barista, you’ll play an important role in our café team, preparing quality coffee while creating a warm and welcoming experience for every guest.

You’ll be responsible for preparing coffee to a consistently high standard, maintaining the coffee bar and equipment, and supporting smooth day-to-day café operations. For Senior Barista candidates, you’ll also take on greater responsibility in maintaining coffee standards, supporting junior team members and helping the team deliver a consistent experience.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their coffee, enjoys hospitality and works well in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Bar Operations

• Prepare and serve espresso-based and specialty coffee beverages according to recipes and standards
• Maintain consistency in espresso extraction, milk steaming, brewing and presentation
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders and coffee equipment properly
• Carry out daily opening, closing and cleaning procedures
• Keep the coffee bar, equipment and preparation areas clean, organised and well-stocked
• Monitor coffee, milk and bar supplies and assist with inventory management
• Support seasonal coffee offerings and menu updates when required

Guest Experience

• Provide friendly, attentive and genuine service to guests
• Communicate confidently with guests and provide guidance on coffee and menu items where appropriate
• Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth and timely service
• Contribute to a welcoming and positive café environment
• Maintain service and coffee standards during busy periods

Teamwork & Development

• Work collaboratively with the café and wider F&B team
• Support and share knowledge with other team members
• Assist with training and guiding junior team members where appropriate
• Take initiative to learn and develop your coffee and hospitality skills
• Support other café operations and duties when required

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in a café, specialty coffee or F&B environment preferred
• Confident in espresso preparation and milk steaming
• Basic latte art skills
• Good understanding of coffee preparation and café operations
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude, reliable and willing to learn
• Clean, organised and attentive to detail
• Able to work well under pressure and maintain consistency during busy service
• Team player who enjoys working in a hospitality environment
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required
