Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & Estimation
Oversee or assist with project budget estimation, cost planning, cash flow forecasting, and final account settlements.
Conduct detailed, accurate material take-offs and measurements from project blueprints.
Blueprint & Plan Analysis (Mandatory for All Levels)
Technical Blueprint Literacy: Read, interpret, and accurately analyze architectural drawings, structural blueprints, shop drawings, and facade specifications. This is a mandatory core requirement for all applicants, including junior positions.
Identify discrepancies or gaps between technical drawings and contract terms to mitigate financial risks.
Tendering & Procurement
Participate in or lead the comprehensive tendering process from inception to award.
Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BQ) based on drawing interpretations and project requirements.
Evaluate sub-contractor quotations, perform cost comparisons, and draft clear award recommendations.
Contract Management & Administration
Review, negotiate, and manage main contracts and subcontracts to ensure strict compliance with company standards.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate variation orders, claims, and disputes with clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
For Senior/Managerial tracks: Guide, mentor, and manage a team of junior Quantity Surveyors (QS).
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Directors, and external consultants to ensure projects remain commercially viable and aligned with financial targets.
Job Requirements & Education
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience Requirements:
Senior / Managerial Roles: Minimum 5 years of proven construction QS experience, with a strict requirement for hands-on experience in facade construction or facade contracting works.
Junior Roles: Candidates with limited or fresh experience are highly welcome to apply; comprehensive training and guidance will be provided.
Technical Skills: Must possess an immediate ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and facade shop drawings. Proficiency in QS measurement software (e.g., Cubicost, AutoCAD, or similar tools) is highly advantageous.
Commercial Acumen: Familiarity with Singapore public/private construction standard forms of contract and tendering procedures.
Soft Skills: Capable of autonomous work, multitasking, and meeting tight deadlines under pressure. Exceptional communication and negotiation capabilities.
