About the Role
We're seeking a certified Licensed Electrical Worker (minimum Grade 7) to leadthe electrical design, compliance, and grid-connection aspects of our solar PVprojects. You'll be the technical authority ensuring all installations meet SPPowerGrid requirements, EMA regulations, and SS638 standards — from residentialrooftops to commercial & industrial installations.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Compliance

• Review and approve electrical single-line diagrams, AC/DC cabling layouts,and protection coordination for solar PV systems
• Ensure designs comply with SS638, SS530, and EMA/SP guidelines forgrid-connected embedded generators
• Calculate earthing requirements, cable sizing, and breaker coordination forLV installations up to 1000V

Grid Connection & Regulatory

• Prepare and submit grid-connection applications (G99/G98 equivalent such as Micro-SolarApplication & Connection of Distributed Energy Resources (DER)) to SPPowerGrid
• Liaise with SP PowerGrid, EMA, and BCA on electrical licensing, inspections,and turn-on approvals
• Obtain and manage necessary electrical installation licences andproject-specific permits

Site Oversight & Safety

• Supervise electrical teams on-site, ensuring safe isolation procedures andlock-out/tag-out protocols
• Conduct pre-energization inspections, insulation resistance testing, andpolarity verification
• Issue Certificates of Compliance (COC) and Safety Certificates upon projectcompletion

Commissioning & Handover

• Witness and validate protection relay settings, anti-islanding tests, andpower quality measurements
• Coordinate with SCADA/monitoring teams for remote monitoring integration
• Handover as-built electrical drawings and O&M manuals to clients

Requirements

• Valid EMA LEW licence (Minimum Grade 7, preferred with relevant solarexperience)
• Minimum 5 years of electrical experience, with at least 2 years in solar PVor embedded generation
• Familiar with SP PowerGrid's Requirements for Embedded Generators andconnection processes
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar for electrical diagram review
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection, earthing, and lightning protectionfor PV systems
• WSQ Advanced Certificate in Electrical Safety or equivalent

Preferred

• Experience with energy storage systems (ESS) and hybrid inverters
• BCA Green Mark or GRO Specialist accreditation
• Prior role in an Electrical Engineering consultancy or solar EPC
