Draftsman Responsibilities:
- Technical Drawings & Plans
Prepare detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
Translate design concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate working drawings. - Design & Documentation Support
Assist engineers, architects, or designers in developing design solutions.
Prepare as-built drawings and update revisions as required.
Ensure all drawings are in compliance with project standards, codes, and client requirements. - Coordination & Collaboration
Coordinate with project teams, engineers, and contractors to resolve design issues.
Attend project meetings to understand requirements and changes.
Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors regarding technical details. - Quality & Accuracy
Check drawings for accuracy, dimensions, and compliance with standards.
Ensure timely delivery of drawings within project schedules.
Maintain proper filing and documentation of drawings (both soft and hard copies). - Site & Project Support
Provide technical support at site when needed.
Incorporate site measurement details into updated drawings.
Prepare shop drawings and detail drawings for construction. - Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Support in preparing drawings for authority submission and approvals.
Draftsman Requirements:
Education & Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Drafting, Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.) is an advantage.
Experience
- Proven work experience as a Draftsman or in a related technical role.
- Experience in preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and as-built drawings.
- Familiarity with construction, engineering, or architectural projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of technical drawing standards, dimensions, and scale.
- Knowledge of building codes, engineering standards, and authority submission requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of materials, construction methods, and design principles.
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
