Principal Consultant

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Consultant to lead professional services and design outsourcing engagements, including sourcing, deploying, and managing field engineers and technical talent across IC design houses, wafer fabs/foundries, OSATs, capital equipment OEMs, EMS companies, and the wider engineering domain. This senior leadership role covers business development, account management, and delivery, and requires building and operating outsourced staffing and professional services engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Professional Services, Design Outsourcing & Field Engineering

• Lead the sourcing, qualification, deployment and ongoing management of field engineers and technical professionals placed on-site with clients across design, OSAT, foundry, and EMS environments, under outsourced, project-based, or managed-service delivery models.

• Develop and scale professional services and design outsourcing offerings, including embedded/on-site engineering teams, statement-of-work engagements, and project delivery.

• Own delivery performance for outsourcing and professional services engagements, including time-to-fill, deployment quality, SLA compliance, utilization, and contractor retention.

Business Development & Account Management

• Develop and manage client relationships, including new business development and account growth, across both search and professional services/outsourcing lines within the semiconductor and broader engineering sectors.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for design outsourcing and professional services solutions.

• Act as senior relationship owner for key accounts, driving cross-sell between search and outsourcing/staffing services and growing wallet share.

Advisory& Market Intelligence

• Advise hiring executives and client stakeholders on market intelligence, competitor organization insight, leadership benchmarking, workforce planning, and cross-market compensation trends.

Cross-BorderDelivery & Compliance

• Manage cross-border searches and workforce deployments, including candidate/contractor mobility, compensation structuring and relocation considerations across APAC markets.

• Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements across all outsourcing activities.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in full-cycle search and/or professional services or design outsourcing, with a proven record spanning business development, account management, and delivery.

• Demonstrated specialization in, or strong working knowledge of, the semiconductor and broader engineering value chain (IC design, wafer fabrication, assembly and test/OSAT, capital equipment, EMS), including field and technical engineering roles.

• Experience building or scaling professional services, design outsourcing, or contract/managed workforce solutions is highly valued.

• Experience managing delivery across multiple Asia Pacific markets, including cross-border candidate/contractor engagement.

• Strong business development, client advisory, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
