Role: Data Mapping Lead (Financial Markets)

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Lead – Data Mapping with strong expertise in Murex and Financial Markets to lead data mapping, reporting, data transformation, and integration initiatives across Treasury and Capital Markets environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong techno-functional experience in Murex, with a deep understanding of Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance, Accounting, Market Data, Static Data, and Enterprise Reporting. The role will involve working closely with business stakeholders, Murex teams, technology teams, and data/reporting teams to translate business requirements into robust data mapping and reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead data mapping and data transformation initiatives across Murex and Financial Markets platforms, ensuring accurate mapping of source data to target systems, reports, interfaces, and downstream applications.

  • Work closely with Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Finance, Accounting, Static Data, and Market Data teams to understand business requirements and define appropriate data mappings.
  • Provide techno-functional leadership on Murex data models, Datamart, reporting architecture, interfaces, and downstream data flows, ensuring data consistency, completeness, and quality.
  • Lead requirements gathering, data analysis, mapping specifications, functional/technical documentation, and validation of data across Murex and enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Drive data mapping for regulatory, risk, finance, operational, and management reporting, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Murex product teams, business users, Business Analysts, developers, QA teams, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex data and mapping issues.
  • Lead data reconciliation and validation activities, including source-to-target validation, data quality checks, report validation, exception analysis, and resolution of data discrepancies.
  • Support Murex implementations, upgrades, migrations, entity rollouts, and reporting transformation initiatives, with a focus on data mapping and downstream impact assessment.
  • Define and maintain reusable data mapping frameworks, data dictionaries, mapping rules, lineage documentation, and transformation specifications to improve consistency and reduce duplication.
  • Provide leadership during testing cycles, including SIT, UAT, regression testing, parallel runs, and production validation, ensuring data accuracy and business acceptance.
  • Identify opportunities for data architecture optimization, automation, process improvement, and reduction of manual operational effort.
  • Lead and mentor data mapping/reporting teams, manage delivery timelines, track dependencies and risks, and ensure high-quality deliverables within agreed project timelines.
  • Required Skills & Experience

    • 12+ years of experience in Financial Services, preferably within Treasury and Capital Markets environments.
    • Strong hands-on/functional experience with Murex, preferably Murex 3.x, with a good understanding of Murex architecture and data structures.
    • Strong understanding of Financial Markets products and processes, including FX, Rates, Derivatives, Securities, Treasury, P&L, Risk, Finance, and Accounting.
    • Proven experience in data mapping, data transformation, data reconciliation, data quality, and enterprise reporting.
    • Strong knowledge of Murex Datamart and reporting frameworks, including designing and optimizing data models for downstream reporting.
    • Good understanding of Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Finance, Accounting, Static Data, and Market Data.
    • Experience working on Murex implementations, version upgrades, migrations, regulatory projects, and multi-entity rollouts.
    • Strong experience in translating business requirements into data mapping specifications and technical/functional solutions.
    • Experience with reporting and data technologies such as Oracle/Sybase, SQL, Business Objects, Datastage, Control-M, or equivalent technologies.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying data discrepancies and tracing data across complex systems.
    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage delivery across multiple workstreams.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and Murex product teams.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities, project dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
    • Experience mentoring team members and building high-performing Murex/data/reporting teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
    • Experience working with global financial institutions or investment banks.
    • Exposure to FRTB, regulatory reporting, capital markets transformation, or other financial-market regulatory initiatives will be an advantage.
    • Experience with large-scale Murex data migration, reporting modernization, or enterprise data transformation projects is highly desirable.
