We are seeking for a Market Strategist who will be a senior member of the Portfolio Solutions team, responsible for leading the Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) research function and driving the development of actionable investment insights across global markets, asset classes, and sectors. This role combines macroeconomic and market research leadership with the formulation of TAA recommendations that support portfolio positioning and investment decision-making.
The incumbent will work closely with research analysts and investment professionals to develop and enhance quantitative research capabilities, translate research findings into TAA views, and effectively communicate investment perspectives to senior stakeholders across the organization. In addition, the role will champion the adoption of data analytics, technology, and artificial intelligence to strengthen research processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the team's investment decision-making framework.
Responsibilities
1. TAA research and decision making
- Lead the research team to conduct in-depth research on global macro and market developments across regions, sectors, and asset classes
- Generate analysis on topical and thematic macro and market issues
- Work closely with research analysts to develop quantitative tools that can be used to enhance TAA decision making
- Translate the research to formulate TAA recommendations
2. Senior Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Communicate investment views, portfolio positioning, and performance drivers to senior internal and external stakeholders
3. Enhancement of research process
- Drive adoption of data, tools and AI within the Portfolio Solution team to enhance and transform the research process
Requirements
- Possess 5-15 years of relevant buy-side investment experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and strong stakeholder management capabilities
- Proven experience leveraging data and tools to enhance or transform the research process
- Multi-asset investing experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher. Degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field will be viewed favorably. Advanced degree (e.g. MSc in Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or related disciplines) is an advantage
- Professional certifications such as CFA will be viewed favorably
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Bloomberg and Aladdin and/or AI tools would be a plus
- High attention to detail, disciplined education, and sound judgement
- Team player with demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and performance-driven environment
