Project Manager - Data Centre Technical Development

Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead, Support and Coordinate with other teams for the design development of technical engineering systems in large scale data centre construction projects.

• Work with internal stakeholders, external vendors and project teams to plan, develop, standardize engineering packages and specifications.

• Provide updates and trackers of issues, and mitigation actions.

• Provide technical review and advice on design, construction and operation of engineering systems, provide suggestions on selection of Third Party vendors, and technical evaluation of Third Party vendors’ proposals.

• Suggest any improvements and modifications of engineering systems in terms of technology, cost, time and etc. in writing.

• Participate in the in-depth design of new systems, coordinate with Third Parties to review design packages before bidding and construction.

• Coordinate with Client and Third Parties’ quality assurance/quality control and installation checks, and successful product delivery in accordance with the design standards, specifications and relevant good industry practice.

• Participate in commissioning and witness commissioning of engineering systems and provide any observations and suggestions for follow-up.

• Follow-up and arrange any defect rectifications and inspection on engineering systems for closure.

• Review the engineering systems as-built documentation for acceptance and successful handover.

• Review and update engineering documentation on regular and on need basis.

Reporting:

• Monthly reports showing Engineering ideas, progress of works, list of engineering design/construction issues etc., and action tracking and follow-up. Weekly follow-up on the comments on the design and installation provided with Third Parties.

• The presentation of improvements and modifications during the technical evaluation on the design, construction and operation of engineering systems.

Education and experience:

What we’re looking for is a technical candidate with at least 10 years’ experience in the field. A post-graduate degree in engineering or project / construction management is also a big plus. You will be experienced in managing multiple parties, vendors, stakeholders and priorities with various milestones. You will be detailed orientated and organized in your approach to project management.
