Teaching

  • Teach Mathematics to Secondary and High School students, primarily from international schools in Singapore.

  • Teach across programmes including:

Academic Support

  • Assess students’ current mathematical ability and identify learning gaps.

  • Develop personalised study plans based on students’ school curriculum, academic level and examination targets.

  • Help students strengthen both:

    • mathematical foundations and conceptual understanding;

    • examination techniques, problem-solving skills and accuracy.

  • Prepare students for school assessments, IGCSE examinations, IB examinations and other relevant external assessments.

  • Track students’ academic progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.

Curriculum & Teaching Materials

  • Familiarise yourself with the curricula and assessment requirements of major international schools in Singapore.

  • Develop and organise lesson materials, practice sets, revision materials and mock examinations.

  • Participate in the development and improvement of Young Education’s Mathematics curriculum and teaching resources.

  • Maintain clear academic records for assigned students.

Student & Parent Communication

  • Provide clear and constructive feedback on students’ progress.

  • Work closely with our academic and education-planning team to support students’ long-term academic development.

  • Communicate professionally with parents when necessary regarding students’ learning progress, challenges and next steps.

  • Support students in developing confidence, independent learning habits and a positive attitude towards Mathematics.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong Mathematics foundation.

  • Strong command of spoken and written English, with the ability to teach Mathematics fully in English and Chinese.

  • Able to explain mathematical concepts in a clear, structured and student-friendly way.

  • Comfortable teaching students across different ability levels.

  • Able to work full-time in Singapore.

Highly Preferred

  • Previous experience teaching IB Mathematics AA / AI.

  • Experience with IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.

  • Familiarity with international schools and international curricula in Singapore.

  • Experience teaching students from schools such as UWCSEA, Tanglin Trust, Dulwich College, NLCS, SAS or other international schools is an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of the Singapore education environment and the academic expectations of families based in Singapore.

  • Bilingual English and Mandarin ability is highly preferred, as the role may involve communication with Mandarin-speaking students and parents.

  • Candidates who completed part of their secondary or tertiary education in Singapore, or who have substantial experience studying, living or teaching in Singapore, are particularly welcome.

  • Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics / Further Mathematics is an additional advantage.

What We Are Looking For

Beyond academic qualifications, we are particularly interested in teachers who:

  • genuinely enjoy teaching teenagers;

  • can teach both high-achieving students and students who need substantial foundational support;

  • understand that international-school teaching requires more than exam drilling;

  • are organised and able to follow students’ progress over months or years;

  • are willing to contribute to curriculum development and the growth of the Mathematics department;

  • are looking for a stable, long-term full-time teaching position rather than short-term tutoring work.
