EVP Global Delivery & Operations

Role Purpose

This role is accountable for the end-to-end delivery and operation of DayOne’s global data centre portfolio, spanning development, construction, commissioning, and steady-state operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Development & Construction – Own engineering integrity; lead construction delivery from groundbreaking to customer-ready handover; govern costing accuracy, schedule control, EHS compliance, and contractor performance; embed lessons learned into future builds.

• Testing & Commissioning - Own global commissioning strategy, acceptance criteria, and readiness gates; act as final authority for operational readiness and go-live approval.

• Campus Operations & Reliability - Own uptime, SLAs, safety, security, and operational performance across all campuses; drive a reliability-first operating culture and continuous improvement.

• Technical Advisory & Lifecycle Engineering – Advise on operability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost efficiencies into all designs and expansions; own technical standards and assurance.

• Commercial Interface (Operational Lens) - Partner with Commercial and Customer Success teams to ensure contractual commitments are operationally executable; provide executive sponsorship for operational performance with hyperscaler and strategic customers.

• Regionalisation & Operating Model Execution - Operationalise DayOne’s regional delivery and operations model; empower Regional MDs with clear decision rights while maintaining global standards.

• Cross-Functional Governance - Partner with leadership on execution sequencing, capital efficiency, workforce planning, and organisational capability build.

Authority & Decision Rights

• Construction methodologies, and delivery sequencing

• Commissioning readiness and site go-live approval

• Operational of assets into live service

• Operational safety shutdowns or build halts where risk thresholds are breached

Financial & P&L Accountability

• Capex delivery performance (cost, schedule, and variance control)

• Operational OPEX efficiency and margin discipline

• Lifecycle cost optimisation across build and run phases

Organization & Scale

Leads a global organisation spanning development, construction, commissioning, and operations teams across all regions.

This includes direct leadership of senior regional and functional leaders, with the organisation expected to scale materially over the next 18–24 months in line with portfolio growth.

Governance, Risk & Escalation

Owns operational and delivery risk identification, mitigation, and escalation.

Material risks impacting safety, uptime, schedule, cost, or contractual service performance are escalated to the CEO and Board as required.

Plays a standing role in investment, delivery, and risk governance forums and provides regular, transparent reporting on portfolio health.

Measures of Success

• Predictable, on-time, on-budget delivery of new capacity

• High and stable uptime and SLA performance across all live sites

• Zero tolerance breaches on safety and regulatory compliance

• Reduction in build-to-run handover defects

• Scalable regional operating performance with clear accountability

• Strong customer confidence and reference ability

Experience & Background

• 20+ years senior leadership experience across large-scale infrastructure development and mission-critical operations

• Proven ownership of both capital delivery and live operations

• Experience scaling multi-country portfolios in high-growth, capital-intensive environments

• Strong preference for experience in PE-backed, IPO-stage, or publicly scrutinised businesses
