What you'll do:

As an Institutional Dealer based in Singapore, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around executing trades for institutional clients across a wide range of asset classes on more than 80 exchanges globally. Your ability to foster strong connections with both clients and internal teams will be essential as you provide expert market insights and risk management support. You will be expected to stay informed about global financial markets while ensuring all transactions adhere strictly to regulatory standards. By identifying emerging trends in client behaviour or market conditions, you will help shape new business opportunities that drive organisational growth. In addition to these core duties, you will play an integral role in supporting senior team members through operational tasks such as reporting and research—ensuring that every aspect of the dealing function operates smoothly. Success in this position requires enthusiasm for learning new systems quickly, meticulous attention to detail under pressure, and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding service within a collaborative team environment.

  • Execute client orders with precision and efficiency across global markets while maintaining a high standard of client service at all times.
  • Build meaningful relationships with institutional clients, Relationship Managers, and internal stakeholders by understanding their trading objectives and providing insightful market guidance as well as risk management support.
  • Monitor financial markets, news sources, and client portfolios proactively to identify significant market events, trading opportunities, and potential risk exposures.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the organisation’s products, trading platforms, and execution processes while staying up-to-date on new investment products, market developments, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate trade records and ensure all dealing activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational controls by collaborating closely with Trade Surveillance, Compliance, and Operations teams.
  • Identify trends in client activity or market developments that may create new business opportunities or enhance existing products and services offered by the organisation.
  • Support the Dealing Manager and senior dealing staff with daily operational activities such as reporting, market research, client communications, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

What you bring:

To excel as an Institutional Dealer in this organisation’s Singapore office, you will bring proven experience from a dealing room or similar institutional trading setting where you have developed deep familiarity with global equity markets. Your academic background in finance or economics provides a solid foundation for interpreting complex market information. Holding—or being eligible for—the necessary MAS qualifications underscores your readiness for regulated environments. Your proficiency with Bloomberg terminals and other advanced trading platforms enables you to navigate fast-moving markets efficiently. Flexibility regarding working hours allows you to support cross-regional operations seamlessly. Most importantly, your excellent communication skills foster trust-based relationships with both clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. High ethical standards guide your actions while your keen attention to detail ensures flawless execution even during periods of intense activity. Your willingness to learn new technologies quickly means you can adapt readily as the organisation continues evolving its product suite.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline is preferred for this position.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working within a dealing room, brokerage or institutional trading environment is required.
  • Holds (or is eligible to hold) relevant Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) representative qualifications including CMFAS M1B, M2A, and M6A.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of global equity markets along with trade execution; knowledge of listed derivatives, fixed income instruments, mutual funds or structured products would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg as well as other market data and trading platforms is highly desirable.
  • Ability to support trading activities during UK/European or US market hours when required demonstrates flexibility.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with interpersonal abilities enable effective collaboration with clients and colleagues across APAC, Europe, Middle East and Americas regions.
  • High ethical standards coupled with sound judgment reflect your commitment to regulatory compliance and professional conduct at all times.
  • Demonstrated capacity for rapid learning of new trading systems or technologies alongside strong attention to detail ensures accuracy even under pressure.
