Our client, a well-established global manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead strategic manufacturing and plant engineering projects across its global operations.

Reporting to both local and global engineering leadership, you will be responsible for driving complex engineering projects from planning through execution while aligning project outcomes with business objectives. The role requires strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple international locations.

Regular overseas travel will be required depending on project requirements, including plant commissioning, factory upgrades, production transfers, and other global engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of manufacturing and plant engineering projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring delivery within scope, budget, timeline, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Develop project schedules, resource plans, budgets, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage project risks and issues.

Strategic Planning

  • Translate business objectives into practical engineering project plans and execution strategies.
  • Partner with senior management to identify priorities and drive strategic engineering initiatives.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance manufacturing capability, operational efficiency, and long-term business performance.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Maintenance, and EHS teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate with regional and global stakeholders to align project deliverables and timelines.
  • Present project updates, milestones, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Plant & Manufacturing Projects

  • Lead projects relating to:
  • Plant commissioning
  • Manufacturing line installation and expansion
  • Factory upgrades
  • Equipment implementation
  • Production transfers
  • Process improvements
  • Facility enhancement projects

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Manage contractors, equipment suppliers, consultants, and external service providers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure contractors comply with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules.

International Project Support

  • Travel overseas to support project implementation, commissioning activities, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), equipment installation, and production start-up activities where required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing or plant engineering project management within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong preference for candidates from the automotive manufacturing industry or other highly automated manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven experience leading manufacturing projects such as plant expansion, production line installation, equipment implementation, factory commissioning, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate management objectives into executable project plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with experience working across multiple functions and regions.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and external vendors.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced multinational environment.
  • Willing to travel internationally as required by project assignments.
