Job Description

Our client is an established and growing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering consultancy in Singapore. Due to continued business growth and an increasing portfolio of projects, they are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design, coordination and delivery of mechanical engineering systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, institutional and other building and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical engineering design and calculations for M&E projects.
• Design and coordinate mechanical building services including ACMV, mechanical ventilation, fire protection, plumbing and sanitary systems, where applicable to the assigned project.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, reports and other project documentation.
• Prepare tender drawings, technical specifications and supporting documentation for tender exercises.
• Review contractors' technical submissions, shop drawings, material submissions and proposed engineering solutions.
• Coordinate M&E design requirements with clients, architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Attend client, consultant, technical and project coordination meetings.
• Liaise and coordinate with relevant authorities on technical requirements, submissions and approvals.
• Conduct site inspections to verify that installation works comply with approved drawings, specifications and applicable requirements.
• Provide technical support and resolve engineering and coordination issues arising during project implementation.
• Support testing and commissioning activities and project completion requirements.
• Monitor assigned project deliverables and ensure engineering works are completed according to project requirements, quality standards and timelines.
• Perform other engineering duties relevant to the successful delivery of assigned projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably within M&E consultancy, building services or a closely related environment.
• Relevant experience in ACMV and mechanical building services design is preferred.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and design coordination.
• Familiarity with Singapore Codes of Practice, relevant regulations and authority requirements would be advantageous.
• Experience with tender documentation, authority submissions, construction-stage coordination and testing & commissioning would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit or other relevant engineering software would be advantageous.
• Able to manage assigned engineering responsibilities independently while working effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
• Good communication, coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills.
