Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer

Salary Range: SGD 5,200 – SGD 8,500 per month (Commensurate with experience)

Recruit123 is currently partnering with an established manufacturing organization to hire an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee plant field instrumentation reliability, drive calibration and maintenance excellence, and lead technical execution during sustaining operations and plant turnarounds.

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, precision, and safety integrity of all site instrumentation and field control elements.

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include planning and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for field instruments such as pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters, analytical sensors, control valves, and actuators.

You will conduct loop testing, calibration routines, and complex fault-finding on field control wiring and junction boxes, utilizing HART and Fieldbus diagnostic tools.

You will lead root-cause failure analyses (RCFA) for instrument breakdowns, update and verify Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and loop drawings, and manage instrument spare parts inventory.

Additionally, you will oversee third-party calibration vendors and contractor teams during plant shutdowns, ensure full adherence to hazardous area (ATEX/IECEx) standards, and support Management of Change (MOC) reviews for new equipment installations.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline, backed by at least 3 to 6 years of hands-on instrumentation maintenance experience within a chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, power, or continuous process plant.

You should possess solid practical knowledge of field instrumentation selection, calibration procedures, smart positioners, and safety interlock wiring.

Familiarity with hazardous area classifications (Ex d, Ex ia, Ex e) and functional safety principles (SIS/SIL) is highly preferred. Strong floor-level diagnostic capabilities, clear vendor management skills, and a steadfast commitment to workplace safety and quality compliance are essential.
