Senior Consultant, Data Governance & Regulatory Advisory and Risk Management (Japanese Speaking)

Responsibilities:

• Drive data governance initiatives by translating complex requirements into clear, actionable deliverables, including KDE identification, EUC inventory and criticality assessment, data aggregation process mapping, and data lineage implementation.
• Designed and implemented risk management frameworks for financial institutions.
• Prepared regulatory documentation and supporting materials covering such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), internal controls, outsourcing governance, and risk management.
• Conducted regulatory gap assessments by evaluating client operations against regulatory requirements and identifying areas for remediation and compliance enhancement.
• Provided advisory support on regulatory compliance and risk management matters, helping clients navigate complex regulatory requirements and implement practical compliance solutions.
• Apply prior experience and practical knowledge from past data governance projects to design effective solutions and drive successful outcomes.
• Develop and manage project plans with clear milestones, governance structures, and defined roles and responsibilities.
• Integrate ABeam’s project management methodology with the bank’s operational practices to ensure plans are both strategic and executable.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in any related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance or regulatory advisory & risk management roles within a financial institution, preferably banking.
• Proven ability to work in complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving business, IT, compliance, and vendors.
• Strong documentation skills using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Solid project management skills, including progress tracking, issue and risk management, and stakeholder coordination, experience preparing and delivering reports or presentations to senior management or executives and good stakeholder management and communication skills are a plus.
• Proficiency in business-level English and Japanese speaking in order to liaise with Japanese speaking clients and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of regulatory reporting, internal reporting, finance/accounting business processes, and related systems.
• Familiarity with data lineage concepts, understanding of finance and accounting business processes, regulatory reporting, and related systems are a plus.
• Prior collaboration with risk management and finance/accounting departments on external and internal reporting activities is highly beneficial.
• Ability to prepare and present clear, structured executive reporting.
