Project Engineer (Data Centre)

Key Responsibilities
1) Project Planning & Execution
- Develop project schedules, resource forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.
- Spearhead end-to-end project implementation (setup → commissioning → handover).
- Manage vendors/subcontractors for quality, timeline, and cost adherence.
2) Technical Leadership
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and scope documents for compliance.
- Conduct equipment setup, startup, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot post-handover technical issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical support and training to local partners on system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
3) Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with Singapore safety regulations (e.g., WSH Act).
- Prepare and submit risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safety reports.
4) Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as primary technical contact for clients, consultants, and vendors.
- Lead project meetings and deliver progress updates to cross-functional teams.
- Prepare progress payment claims, variation orders, and project documentation.
5) Continuous Improvement
- Optimize project tracking methods and reporting tools for real-time visibility.
- Develop and deliver operational/maintenance training to clients.
Requirements:
- Min NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in project engineering, with hands-on experience in cooling systems, preferably involving data centre cooling solutions, CRAC, precision air-conditioning, or other mission-critical cooling infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project/Excel for scheduling and reporting.
- Hands-on experience in the installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting of cooling systems.
- Familiarity with Singapore's workplace safety regulations and industry standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving, project management, decision-making skills and cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to coordinate with customers, contractors, and internal teams, while handling project challenges and meeting deadlines under tight schedules and changing project priorities.
- Willingness to travel extensively across ASEAN countries and China to support project execution.
- Comfortable working at customer sites, construction sites, industrial facilities, and data centre environments.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required to meet project schedules and commissioning activities.
