Job Description
1. Project Planning and Design:
- Develop detailed engineering plans and designs for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, and water systems.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create and analyze designs.
2. Project Management:
- Oversee the construction and implementation of projects to ensure they meet design specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
3. Site Inspection and Evaluation:
- Conduct inspections of construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Evaluate existing structures and systems for potential improvements or repairs.
4. Problem Solving:
- Address engineering problems and provide innovative solutions to overcome challenges in design and construction.
- Ensure that all engineering solutions adhere to environmental regulations and standards.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, specifications, and contracts.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders and clients on project status and any issues.
6. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Implement safety procedures and protocols to protect workers and the public.
Requirements
1. Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is typically required. Some positions may require a Master’s degree.
2. Licensure:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is often required for more senior positions or for those who are responsible for signing off on engineering plans. Licensing requirements vary by region.
3. Experience:
- Relevant work experience in civil engineering, including internships or previous positions, is usually required. Entry-level positions may require less experience, while senior roles will demand more extensive experience.
4. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design and modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, materials science, and construction methods.

- Ability to analyze complex data and engineering problems and develop effective solutions.
6. Communication Skills:

10. Physical Requirements:
- Some roles may require the ability to work on construction sites, which may involve physical activity and exposure to outdoor conditions.
