Senior Avaloq Developer/Lead - Core Banking & Wealth Management

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Avaloq Developer to join our banking technology team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering enhancements on the Avaloq Core Banking platform.

You will work closely with business analysts, solution architects, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, compliant, and scalable Avaloq solutions. The role also involves guiding junior developers, supporting deliveries, and contributing to platform stability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain solutions on the Avaloq Core Banking Platform
• Translate functional and regulatory requirements into technical designs and implementations
• Configure and parameterize Avaloq modules, including business modelling and compliance setups
• Develop, optimize, and maintain PL/SQL and Oracle database components
• Support integration with surrounding banking and financial systems
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Architects, and Testing teams throughout the SDLC
• Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, testing, and production support
• Troubleshoot complex issues and ensure platform stability and performance
• Contribute to delivery planning, estimation, and technical decision-making
• Promote best practices in development, documentation, and release management

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in Private Banking or Wealth Management domains
• Exposure to Java, REST APIs, or integration frameworks
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD in an Avaloq environment
• Avaloq certification or formal Avaloq training
• Experience mentoring junior developers or acting as a technical lead

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 6–8+ years of hands-on experience working with Avaloq solutions
• Strong expertise in Avaloq scripting, configuration, and parameterization
• Solid experience in PL/SQL development and Oracle databases
• Good understanding of core banking and wealth management processes
• Experience working with compliance, regulatory, and risk-related systems
• Familiarity with structured SDLC delivery (Agile and/or Waterfall)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• Capable of working in dependently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
