Chinese Hand Puppetry Instructor / 布袋戏导师

Journey To Growth Pte Ltd is looking for experienced Chinese Hand Puppetry (布袋戏) Instructors for a school-based programme in 2027.

📍 Location: Nan Chiau High School, Singapore
📅 Period: January – November 2027
🕐 Schedule: Weekdays, between 8:00 AM – 2:40 PM (actual schedule to be confirmed)
👥 Students: Secondary 1
🗣 Language: Mandarin & English

Job Scope

• Conduct Chinese Hand Puppetry (布袋戏) lessons for Secondary 1 students
• Teach basic puppet manipulation techniques
• Introduce students to the history of Chinese puppetry and Hokkien culture
• Teach performance skills including vocal techniques, character analysis, drama and stagecraft
• Guide students in rehearsals and preparation for a final puppetry performance
• Encourage teamwork, discipline and students’ interest in traditional Chinese performing arts

Requirements

• Professionally trained or experienced in Chinese Drama and Chinese Puppetry / 布袋戏
• Relevant qualifications and/or performance experience
• Minimum 3 years of coaching experience in similar programmes
• MOE-registered instructor
• Able to teach in Mandarin and English
• Comfortable working with secondary school students
• Responsible, punctual and able to commit to the programme schedule
