Job Summary

Sitting within a team of Business Analysts/Product Owners in the Reserve Management Department, you will be responsible for managing the trading system as well as applications and processes related to portfolio management and execution.

Besides working on enhancements and/or implementation projects, you will also be involved in the monitoring, analysing and troubleshooting of front-office processes to ensure their smooth functioning. This includes liaising with the in-house IT department, external service providers, as well as other business departments involved in the trade lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with portfolio managers to understand their business requirements, and translate these business requirements into technical requirements, and vice versa.
  • Design, test and implement processes/tools/systems in partnership with in-house IT, risk, and finance teams, as well as external software vendors and service providers, to support the front-office investment workflow.
  • Develop and write test plans for system, process and product upgrades, as well as participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Develop and maintain user guides and documentation relating to processes/tools/systems implemented for the front-office investment workflow.
  • Plan and work with multiple departments on implementing roadmaps for the desired front-office workflow, including feature development and upgrades.
  • Ensure front-office processes and procedures meet internal standards for data integrity, security and auditability.
  • Monitor, analyse and troubleshoot front-office processes to ensure their smooth functioning. This includes liaising with the in-house IT department as well as external service providers in the troubleshooting and resolution of production issues.
  • Manage project implementations with vendors and service providers, covering procurement and related administrative issues.
  • Oversee change management to facilitate new product and/or system adoption, including possible re-engineering of workflows and processes.

Requirements

  • Singaporean only.
  • An undergraduate degree in business-related or IT-related fields.
  • At least 4 years of relevant working experience, including business analysis/product management of systems used in similar functions within the asset management domain.
  • Strong sense of ownership and growth mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking, with good problem-solving abilities.
  • Good understanding of user-centric principles and/or service design.
  • Adept communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in cross-functional groups, representing the views of different stakeholders and influencing teams towards achieving shared goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with varying technical requirements, levels of stakeholder engagement, and completion timelines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements due to unforeseen restrictions or constraints in existing systems.
  • Experience developing test plans and managing testing for project implementations and enhancements.
  • Experience developing and maintaining user guides and system documentation.
  • Experience managing project schedules and timelines to ensure the prompt completion of work tasks.

Essential Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in investment systems, including but not limited to:
    • Murex
    • SimCorp Dimension
    • BlackRock Aladdin
    • Charles River
  • Understanding of public markets transaction workflows, from front office to back office, particularly in the fixed income and foreign exchange markets.
