Job Responsibilities
Inspect, assess and grade plywood according to company quality standards, customer specifications and established grading requirements.
Conduct incoming, in-process and final quality inspections, including checks on plywood dimensions, thickness, surface condition, bonding quality and manufacturing defects.
Implement and monitor plywood grading criteria, quality-control procedures and inspection checklists.
Identify, record and segregate defective or non-conforming plywood, and recommend the appropriate corrective action.
Prepare and maintain accurate grading records, quality inspection reports, defect reports and other QC documentation.
Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, production efficiency and compliance with required specifications.
Investigate recurring quality issues and coordinate with production personnel to implement corrective and preventive measures.
Coordinate, allocate work to and supervise production personnel to ensure smooth workflow, productivity and compliance with quality requirements.
Train and guide workers on plywood grading standards, inspection methods, machinery operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.
Review workers’ grading and inspection results and report significant quality or production issues to management.
Set up and operate relevant production and platform machinery in support of plywood grading and quality-control operations.
Conduct routine machinery inspections, perform basic preventive maintenance and troubleshoot minor operational issues.
Report major equipment faults or maintenance requirements promptly.
Assist with the safe handling, loading and unloading of plywood, raw materials and finished products where operationally required.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, quality-control requirements and company operating procedures.
Perform other plywood grading, quality-control and supervisory duties as assigned.
Requirements
GCE ‘O’ Level qualification or equivalent.
At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in plywood grading, quality control, wood manufacturing or a related production environment.
Good knowledge of plywood grading standards, common product defects and quality-control procedures.
Able to operate relevant production machinery safely and efficiently.
Able to maintain accurate inspection records and prepare quality-control reports.
Good leadership, supervisory and communication skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Responsible, reliable and safety-conscious.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am to 12:00pm
