Legal Associate (Banking & Finance)

We are working with a leading international law firm seeking a junior Associate to join its established Banking & Finance practice in Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance lawyer to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border financing transactions alongside highly regarded practitioners and international clients.

Role

The successful candidate will advise financial institutions, alternative lenders, sponsors, funds and corporate borrowers across a range of financing transactions, including:

• Bilateral and syndicated lending
• Acquisition and leveraged finance
• Corporate and structured financing
• Refinancing and general banking matters
• Cross-border financing transactions
• Private credit and non-bank lending

You will be involved throughout the transaction lifecycle, including reviewing and drafting finance documents, coordinating conditions precedent, managing transaction execution and working with counsel and stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

Requirements

• 1–3 years’ PQE gained within Banking & Finance
• Qualified in Singapore, England & Wales, Australia or another recognised common law jurisdiction
• Experience in private credit, direct lending or other non-bank lending transactions will be particularly well regarded.
• Exposure to credit funds, private equity sponsors, alternative lenders, leveraged/acquisition finance or lender-side transactions would also be advantageous.
• Experience with financing transactions from a reputable law firm
• Strong drafting, analytical and transaction-management skills
• Comfortable working on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters
• Commercial, collaborative and confident communicating with clients and counterparties
