Operations Manager

Job Description

Pantler is looking for a passionate and hands-on Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our premium patisserie and café.

The role requires someone who can lead a team, maintain high standards of hospitality, manage the commercial aspects of the business and take ownership of the overall operation.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

• Oversee the daily operations of the café and ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Maintain Pantler’s standards of quality, presentation and hospitality.
• Develop and improve operational procedures and systems.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, stock control and suppliers.

People & Leadership

• Lead, motivate and develop the service team.
• Manage staff scheduling, training and performance.
• Foster a professional, positive and collaborative working environment.

Commercial

• Monitor food costs, labour costs, wastage and operating expenses.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, efficiency and profitability.
• Work closely with the kitchen and management team on menus, products and seasonal initiatives.

Guest Experience

• Ensure consistently high standards of customer service.
• Handle customer feedback and service recovery professionally.
• Lead by example and remain hands-on during service.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in café, restaurant, hospitality or F&B operations, preferably in a management or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Good understanding of food cost, labour cost and inventory control.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Hands-on, proactive and commercially minded.
• High standards of quality and attention to detail.
• Willing to work weekends and public holidays as required.
