Experienced Quantity Surveyor (Electrical Focus) to support commercial and contract administration functions for M&E infrastructure projects.
Working closely with the project delivery team, contracts team, consultants, subcontractors, and management, this role is key to driving project costing, progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor claims, and commercial documentation. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Electrical building services and distribution systems.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Cost & Budget Management: Prepare, evaluate, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and cost reports specifically for Electrical and M&E installation works.
- Electrical Quantity Take-off & Measurement: Perform precise material take-offs and measurements from Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic layouts, lighting/power plans, and ELV drawings for tendering and variation verification.
- Claims & Variation Orders: Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders (VOs), final accounts, and supporting commercial documentation for electrical scopes.
- Subcontractor Administration: Review electrical subcontractor quotations, progress payment claims, variation submissions, and final account settlements against site progress.
- Cost Tracking & Risk Mitigation: Track ongoing electrical project costs, identify commercial risks, and update project leadership on cost impacts.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, and internal project teams regarding contractual and commercial matters on site.
- Documentation & Audit Trail: Maintain systematic records of claims, correspondence, contract documents, site drawings, and cost substantiation.
- Project Close-out: Support project close-out, final account settlement, and audit documentation for all electrical trade packages.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience in Singapore construction, with a direct focus on Electrical M&E / MEP trade packages.
- Strong practical understanding of Electrical M&E measurement, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), LV/HV power distribution, lighting, earthing, and ELV systems.
- Proven experience handling progress claims, variation orders, tender measurements, and subcontract administration for electrical trades.
- Proficient in reading site shop drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Certifications (Advantage): Registered with the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (SISV) is a plus.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost-tracking tools.
- Strong numerical accuracy, communication, negotiation, and contract drafting skills.
- Ability to work independently on site while coordinating closely with site engineers and project managers.
- Prior experience in Singapore public infrastructure, transport, or large-scale utility projects is advantageous.
