Business Development Manager (Marine)

Company Overview

Sing Hai Marine Engineering Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based marine engineering company providing marine engine repair, overhaul, spare parts and technical services to shipowners, ship managers and vessel operators.

We are expanding our marine business and are looking for an experienced Marine Business Development Manager to develop new customers and expand our presence in Singapore and the regional marine market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities with shipowners, ship managers, fleet operators, shipyards and marine companies.
• Identify and develop opportunities for marine engine repair, overhaul, maintenance, spare parts and technical services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, technical superintendents, fleet managers, procurement teams and marine engineering departments.
• Proactively identify vessels requiring dry-docking, engine overhaul, repair, maintenance or spare parts.
• Conduct customer visits, sales presentations and technical/commercial discussions.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and follow up opportunities through to purchase order.
• Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts.
• Support customer/vendor registration and participate in relevant marine tenders and RFQs.
• Work closely with the company's engineering and service team to develop technically and commercially viable solutions.
• Develop new accounts while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and emerging opportunities in the marine industry.
• Achieve agreed sales and gross-profit targets.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine sales, marine business development, ship repair, marine engineering, marine equipment or marine spare parts.
• Proven experience dealing with shipowners, ship managers, fleet operators, shipyards or marine companies.
• Strong understanding of the marine industry and vessel maintenance/repair requirements.
• Experience in selling marine engine services, engine overhaul, spare parts, marine equipment or related technical services is highly preferred.
• Strong business development and customer relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently identify leads, develop opportunities and convert them into sales.
• Good commercial negotiation and quotation skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to travel locally to shipyards, offices, vessels and customer sites when required.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Singapore work experience and an existing network within the local marine industry will be an advantage.
