WORKPLACE SAFETY HEALTH OFFICER

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist the Project Manager on all EHS/WSH matters.
• Lead the safety team in implementing and monitoring EHS/WSH plans, policies and control measures.
• Organize and conduct safety activities, briefings and initiatives to promote safety awareness on site.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend appropriate measures to eliminate or minimize risks to personnel.
• Establish and promote a strong safety culture to achieve project safety and health objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory acts, regulations, codes of practice and company safety rules and requirements.
• Monitor and maintain a safe and healthy working environment throughout the project.
• Implement and maintain the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management system.
• Plan, coordinate and manage safety audits and inspections on site, including follow-up on corrective actions.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders, authorities and project teams on WSH/EHS matters where required.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree/Master’s Degree in Engineering, HSE or a related discipline, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a WSHO, preferably in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• MOM-Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
• Prior airport project experience is a MUST.
• Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices, WSH legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Good knowledge of ISO 45001 and OSH management systems.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with a meticulous and proactive approach.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels in a professional manner.
