Job Description & Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily carpentry activities and manpower.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Assign work to carpenters and monitor daily progress.
• Ensure carpentry works are completed according to approved drawings, dimensions, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Inspect materials and workmanship before, during, and after installation.
• Monitor project schedules and ensure work is completed within deadlines.
• Prepare or monitor material requirements and minimize material wastage.
• Identify and resolve site issues related to carpentry works.
• Ensure workers follow company safety procedures and site regulations.
• Train and guide carpenters and junior workers when required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and a safe working environment.
• Report daily progress, manpower, material usage, and site problems to management.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in carpentry, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Proven experience supervising carpenters on construction or fit-out projects.
• Good knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to measure, calculate dimensions, and set out carpentry works accurately.
• Good leadership, communication, and manpower-management skills.
• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Good problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Relevant technical/vocational certification in carpentry or construction is an advantage.
• Experience with interior fit-out, renovation, furniture, formwork, or general construction is an advantage.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines , with flexibility to work extended hours when required.
