MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy vehicles, including buses, trucks, and other commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy vehicles, buses, and minibuses.
• Inspect vehicles, diagnose mechanical faults, and carry out necessary repairs, adjustments, servicing, and replacement of worn or defective components.
• Respond promptly to roadside breakdowns and provide technical assistance to drivers to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle servicing, repairs, maintenance activities, and replacement of parts.
• Inspect, service, and repair vehicle air-conditioning and wheel alignment systems, including replacement of defective components.
• Install, remove and maintain vehicle electrical systems and equipment, including in-vehicle cameras, electrical accessories, and other vehicle devices.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with established safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Maintain good housekeeping, cleanliness, and proper condition of the workshop, tools, equipment, and designated work areas.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Relevant qualification or technical certification in Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with diesel engines and commercial/heavy vehicles will be an advantage.
• Able to troubleshoot mechanical and vehicle-related problems effectively.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, or respond to breakdowns when required
